We are approaching 24 hours without power. We have a generator running our fridge and freezers on rotation, but it is hot today. Kids are losing it without lights or TV. We got our solar estimate today though and I think this outage has pushed us to move forward with that. Thankfully the total cost is less than we sold our boat for. I think it was a good trade.

We took DD1 to the American Girl Store this weekend for her birthday present. She basically lived her best life. We have a new doll and a bunch of new accessories. We just sent one of our Wellie wisher dolls off to the doll hospital. I'm nervous that it will all work out and we will actually get her doll back. You had to mail an old school check so weird, lol. Glad DD had a great birthday. |

We took DD1 to the American Girl Store this weekend for her birthday present. She basically lived her best life. We have a new doll and a bunch of new accessories. We just sent one of our Wellie wisher dolls off to the doll hospital. I'm nervous that it will all work out and we will actually get her doll back. You had to mail an old school check so weird, lol. Glad DD had a great birthday. I hope you get the doll back too! They seemed really organized, and I'm sure there's a system to make sure the right dolls get to the right girls. Why did she need the doll hospital? |

Yesterday I went out and bought 13 dozen ears of corn. Today my mom came out, and dh and the girls husked the corn, and my mom and I cooked, cut it off the cob and bagged it for the freezer. We got 65 bags, 20 of which my mom is going to take home. My right wrist is sore from getting the corn in/out of the pots and cutting it.

I actually got an email today after I posted that she was " being seen" by the doctors so, I'm hopeful it's gonna be okay Of our 5 Wellie Wishers, 4 of them have a broken leg! How much do they charge to fix a leg? It kind of infuriates me that so many broke in the same way because clearly it’s a design flaw. One of my students had the same thing happen with her doll, too. |

We are not home bc our house has been invaded by mice and ants. We are in Canada until the weekend then will go to my parents. The exterminator said he has never seen mice move Into a house so quickly as we had an electrician there a week and a half ago and he didn’t see anything in the attic. He found two holes next to our basement doors that have to be sealed. We have gotten so much rain everyone is having the same problems. |

My sister went over to tend the garden and sleep there with a friend they found mouse droppings and saw 2 mice near the tv.🤢 |

scotty did you get power back yet? Yes, after 28 hours. We moved into the camper and pretended we were camping. We lost a lot of the food in our fridge but the freezers were fine. We filled the camper fridge with the important stuff, but it forced me to deep clean the kitchen fridge, which was needed anyways. |

Yeah, scary stuff! That article doesn't even emphasize the total number of cases resulting (i think its over 800!) One of the vaccinated people who got sick with covid as part of that outbreak was on On Point (npr show) earlier this week too; worth a listen. I'm curious to see what all data was gathered from this outbreak. Probably not as much as would be useful since it caught people by surprise plus limited healthcare places on the outer cape. But then again lots of the tourists affected have connections so maybe. The headline should have said clubgoers not beachgoers. But I wonder how much they'll be able to figure out about settings where transmission happened - if it was only in bars and clubs and then close personal contacts of those people, or if some was in restaurants or even just stores, or even possibly any outdoors (lots of crowded outdoor places there). |

I'm so out of it today. I went to the grocery store, and there was an alert out for someone driving the same kind of vehicle as me, and I legit thought maybe it was about me. The alert started with "missing and endangered person" so I really shouldn't have thought it was about me.

Dh wants me to look into refinancing our house. We just did it last year right at the start of the pandemic, and I'm really not in the mood to do it again. I did email the banner that helped us the original closing and refinance to see what he says. I told him that it's a lot of work and forms and things to fill out, and he says that he will help this time. I filled out ALL the forms for both the purchase and refinance. Maybe this time he gets to do all the work.

So far the baby has screamed 90% of the ride. And our dumb superintendent hasn’t decided on masks even though the state said everyone k-6 needs masks and all other unvaccinated kids and teens so wtf? He sent an email saying he’s 🤷♀️

Also, we took the kids camping for a couple of nights. It was their first time and they loved it. My parents came with us which was clutch because they have allll the gear.
It was a lot of together time, though. I will need a few days at home to recover and recharge.
