Damn lecky! She didn’t hold much back, did she?! I haven’t done a great job of being cordial in my reactions to mine, I’m out of practice 😂 Mine spent this morning (it’s only 8:50!) telling us how sil and bil NEED to get married in the Catholic Church (they had a backyard ceremony in 2019). Mil and fil didn’t get married in the church until their 20th anniversary. Pot… kettle… wash, rinse repeat. She also gave my kids a furby. The thing is so creepy. I took the batteries out and put it back in the box. What is with all the old toys?!

Hello, yup, and thanks for the gifts are the extent of our convos 😏

mrscheese and lecky Old toys here too! Just from my mom. She will find yard sale toys or those others are giving away. It’s kind, but we don’t need toys that are a bit broken and the kids aren’t interested in. Same for clothes. It’s kind but I don’t need them so I won’t use them (old, stretched out, ill fitting, but always clean). I wore that stuff growing up because we didn’t have money, so I know where she is coming from and I appreciate it. I also don’t want to be a hoarder and have stuff just to have stuff.

Thanks for asking. We've been busy. We got our pigs early this year, got a new puppy (a mini aussiedoodle), and our meat birds and turkeys arrived this week. Then DH's grandpa passed away unexpectedly. His funeral was today. Dh took the older 2 boys but I'm at home with a head cold (negative for covid). It's still winter here with snow on the ground so we are very impatient for better weather soon.

For the target car seat trade-in do you have to scan in store to get the deal or is it transferable/a code. We will need a new infant seat but I don't know if I can make it to target this week. Our closest one is a couple hours away. If anyone has advice on getting a code I would be interested. I do have an expired seat, just no time to do it before the deal ends.

If you pull up the code luvboston posted on your computer and scan it with the target app on your phone you'll be able to use it. That's what I did to get a booster seat for Dd1. Need any recommendations on an infant seat?

I was thinking the Graco Snugfit 35 DLX but I see it is sold out as of tonight. Any other recommendations?

I cannot remember which exact style. We gave it to my brother last month.

What boosters and vehicle? In my jeep wrangler we have an evenflo maestro and a graco milestone. In our Ford f-150 we are using 2 graco atlas boosters. It's most important to find something for the f-150 which has a good amount of space. We won't all fit in the jeep.

One of the people from our old neighborhood reached out to me. She said the current owners of our old house are having "ghost experiences". 😳 We lived there several years and didn't have any issues. I always told Dh if it went for sale I would buy it back. I think I've changed my mind. 😂

springbeduk Thanks for thinking of me. Honestly, I have not been well at all. I am very depressed. Just not finding joy in anything lately. I find it so hard to get up now in the mornings, I have to drag myself out of bed to get ready for work. I haven't worked out in a month, feel like I'm being a terrible mother because I am doing the bare minimum around the house and with meals. Just trying to get through each day right now.

And you are absolutely not a bad mother. You're awesome, and still good even when you're feeling crummy. Though of course it won't feel like it. Is there anything we can do to help? Though when feeling like that it's so hard to even see to what would help, and please don't take the question as extra stress or as a homework assignment. But if there is anything that cones to mind, please say so! Have you made any fun soaps recently?

Just difficult all around for me. I had my birthday and just feel my age and not fun to be alone.

Is it DIY remodeling or dud you have workers scheduled to be in the house? He isn't that sick. All of last week, he was on his work team building thing in Florida. Apparently, over 75 people from his company are positive, and they all flew home all over the country on Friday. Also, the first day airlines stopped the mask mandate. I actually left for the weekend American girl trip with J, so I only saw him for dinner. We were away all weekend he tested and is quarantining in our finished basement. So I don't think we will turn up positive🤞. DH was actually supposed to be painting and installing stuff this past weekend, but he, of course didn't feel great so now it's all torn apart but un done. I'm sleeping on the living room couch.

springbeduk how are you liking your Rav 4 hybrid? We are thinking of getting one... I love getting 40-42 mpg!! (I was getting about 22 in my old not hybrid odyssey) Otherwise - it's fine. I'm not in love with it, partly because I was so rushed and felt like I had to just buy whatever was pretty good and would be in stock soon enough, so then it's hard to be confident I really picked the best option. Also I have an LE and would prefer to have some features from a higher trim level (more adjustments to driver seat and better lumbar support, for example) but it was going to be too long a wait for that. It's a good size; dd can usually buckle herself without help, though the seatbelt thing doesn't stand up as much as would be nice (much better than in my dad's Subaru though); it comes with free maintenance for 2 years or 25000 miles which is nice. Though it's an LE mine does have a couple extra features that I really like - blind spot warning (an orange icon flashes on the side rear view mirror if there's a car in or approaching my blind spot) and automatic high/low beams. The tires that came on it truly suck in the snow - the tread just gets packed with snow instead of shedding it. They're horrible. Ok on dry and just wet pavement; not great for avoiding hydroplaning. But tires don't last that long anyways. I haven't really pushed it for handling - was used to the minivan so anyway it's better than that. Has good acceleration. Mine has a manual tailgate and it's harder to shut than I'd expect - have to really slam it to get it to latch right. Higher trims all or mostly have power tailgate. Dd's door also is a little fussier about opening/shutting than I'm used to. I don't know if that's just a Toyota thing? I just had it in for its first maintenance and the tech the tailgate is normal/nothing wrong with it. In the back seat there's one light in the middle instead of a light over each seat which with 2 kids isn't great but you have just one so probably would be fine.

Some families are haunted and spirit travels with them wherever they move.

Thanks springbeduk! We are in a similar situation. Our Civic is becoming too expensive to fix so it's on its way out. I put our name on a waitlist for a Rav 4. It came in earlier than expected and the sales guy is annoying me. DH isn't ready to make a decision even though he agrees we need a new car before the winter and with the shortages we may not get what we want. But I don't want to get in the situation where we have to buy a car immediately and take whatever we can get.
