Car trouble continues. Looks like it's time to get a new vehicle. Thankfully FIL is going to give us some money for one.

But there's a lot pricier options as well.

rainbowsockmonkey how are you and your girls doing? I hope you're all feeling better! We are doing well. I have a bit of a cough and some stuffiness remaining, but it's also harvest time for the beans and corn, so it's probably form a lot of that stuff floating around. Dd2 has a bit of a cough, but no fever, so probably fall allergies. I'm going to bring up getting her tested for allergies at her yearly check up in Jan. Dd2's stomach thing was thankfully short lived, and so far this week everyone has been at work/school.

We're starting to get the holiday catalogs and I am feeling very old that the new Historical Character is from the year 2000. That's not that long ago, right?

We're starting to get the holiday catalogs and I am feeling very old that the new Historical Character is from the year 2000. That's not that long ago, right? Definitely not that long ago!! Seems odd for a historical character - it doesn't feel like life was different enough then for it to be either very interesting or educational for kids.then again, I'm old (and was already 25 then!). But if it even seems not that long ago to you, and you were still a kid in 2000, then it really does seem weird for them to pick such a recent time!

The target app really needs to have a "santa" / hide from history option.
Or does it have one and I just haven't figured it out?

They even say they want the Baby toys. DD2 had the gall to ask why we never get them anything they mark. And I was like .... We do!

A couple of years ago, amazon updated their website to have things in your cart in a column along the side of the computer screen, and it couldn't be hidden. I got on the chat feature with them and told them it sucked, and made it very hard to shop for kids because they could see what was in the cart. The chat person agreed it was a stupid update.

Speaking of Amazon, it's Prime Deal Days. I got one of DS's Xmas presents for 30% off and new sheets for 50% off.

Have any of your M14 kids already lost a 2 year molar? My dd lost 2 premolars recently, which I was expecting but then when her 2nd one came out, both the canine and the 2-year molar next to it got loose too. I figured the 2 year molar would settle back in but the canine might come out soon, but the molar got looser and looser and just came out too! I'm used to seeing 6th and 7th graders lose those, so it seems weird... ?

DD1 hasn't actually lost a tooth in a little while.

springbeduk DS lost one of his molars awhile ago. The dentist didn't think much of it. We were just at the dentist and she said they usually start loosing them around 10 but it could be earlier.

DD1 hasn't actually lost a tooth in a little while. Yeah, dd had lost all 8 front teeth in K and 1st grade - I think early in 1st grade. Then the tooth fairy had a good long vacation until maybe a month ago, and got very out of practice! (She also is not really believed in anymore, which is a problem as ds will probably start losing teeth pretty soon...). Jumping right to losing the 2 year molars surprised me, though!

luvboston, thinking of you. (And have been but nothing seems enough/appropriate to say; words just don't hold up to the situation). I hope your H's family and any other family and friends you have in Israel are safe.

I was standing in the kitchen finishing my dinner when Dh came home from work. He came into the kitchen, said "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but...." and dropped and envelope in front of me. Its a summons for jury duty. I had a summons the summer of 2015. My summons starts on December 1st, and is for 4 months. I'm "on call" to be on jury duty for 4 months, and have to call in every Friday evening to see if I have to report the following week. I'm going to take the letter into work on Monday and show my bosses, and let them know my schedule will need to be a bit fluid for while.
4 fucking months.

H had jury duty in February and had to report all of two days before he was cut lose. I have only ever gotten called while heavily pregnant. Once in 2014 and once in 2016. Not a word since then.

It is sooooo long. The total population of our county is just over 13k people, including babies and old people. I'm guessing that's why it's such a long "term". Not many people to pull from.

May every Friday bring a “thank you for calling, we don’t need you next week.” I was on a 6 week murder trial jury in 2013. I would 100% do it again for a multitude of reasons but it majorly impacted my life and actually still does in the form of nightmares. I really really really hope it’s an easy go for you.

That is so different than I have been used to. I’ve been called either 4-5 times the last 5-6 years. I mostly have had to show up, sit around and then let go. Only once have I made it through the whole juror process and then I wasn’t chosen to be in the final number. Another time there was a murder trial and I sat there all day and a plea deal was worked out. I haven’t minded it. Now, every Friday for 4 months!!! Or a really bad case would be hard. I even got called for jury duty after I moved and changed my license and voting into last year, so of course I was excused then.
