activebaby that is the stuff of nightmares. I’m so sorry. J is home from school today with a 102 fever, aches, a headache and cough/congestion. Sounds like flu to me. 😣

🤣🤣🤣 but wait ...🧐 the person in the one picture is sitting on it with her pants still all the way on. 🤔 And how does one pull down your pants while driving? Though getting rid of a pair of pants us less bad than a whole car!

I had a dream about lulu last night. For some reason I was in Scotland for a baby shower, and she took a train so we could hang out.

Thats march weather!) But that is absolutely nothing compared to dealing with the gi bug x3 or more! I agree with Lrmrtn; nightmare scenario! So sorry you had all that activebaby; I hope everyone is better!

I almost forgot to get Valentines for the kids (for their classroom exchange); luckily there were still a couple kinds I didn't think were horrible left at Target; hopefully the kids will be ok with them.
At what age do we get to stop doing valentines for classmates?
Though I suppose Valentine's day and associated nonsense (sorry; it's a holiday I really am full bah humbug about) with teenagers will be even worse so I shouldn't complain about the little kid version ....
Anyone find any really cute valentines anywhere?

Thank you athena and rainbowsockmonkey! I thought I was already way behind. Though really it's only Jan 21st. But I have a bunch of deadlines/stressy things Jan 30, 31, and then a few days in early February too, so my brain is kindof stuck already there, trying to not lose track of time (because I always lose track of time), fixated on "eek it's almost February!" So then that leads to "must. not. forget. Valentines."!

Anyone find any really cute valentines anywhere? I ordered from oriental trading. We don't have any stores locally, so I try to do it early. They came fast and they have a lot of options. H picked out mini skateboards and boxes of candy hearts.

I ordered off Amazon. They are tiny squishy animals. 28 PCS Mochi Squishy Valentines... www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNH3FYJZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_shareI’m always afraid of having to do things with short notice. Also different topic- I have found I am getting less comfortable going to stores (except grocery). For instance I want to buy some make up and instead of trying to go somewhere like Sephora and try some on, I keep doing online color matches. Then I won’t buy them because I’m afraid it will not be what I want (sheer, tiny bit of color). When I was a young adult I enjoyed shopping.

We were supposed to go to Disney this week. Our house closing got scheduled right in the middle of our planned trip and with S getting RSV I got nervous about traveling. We had invited my parents and they decided to go to Florida without us after we canceled. They keep sending pictures with "wish you were here". I get it, but I'm not exactly thrilled to be home buried in snow.
Just 3 days until our final walk through and 6 days until closing.

When I was 24 years old, living with a boyfriend, and carefree, I adopted a kitten and named her Dakota. A year later, I broke up with the boyfriend and moved back home with my parents for a couple of years and Kota came with me. My parents were dog people and claimed to be allergic to cats. Spoiler alert: they weren’t.
When I moved out of my parents, I took Kota with me but she was so used to being spoiled by my mom that she was miserable in her new home. So I brought her back to my parents and they have had her all these years. They have had several dogs over the years. Some friends with Kota and some not, but she always ruled the house. And when my kids came along, she became their friend, too.
Kota is 19 years old now and today my mom is taking her in to be put down. She has cancer and dementia. It is time. She isn’t really my cat anymore, but I’m still sad. She has been with our family through 19 years. That’s so long but also the blink of an eye.
Rest in peace, sweet Kota-belle.
Thank you for letting me share.

mrscheese,I'm sorry about the loss of your kitty. Losing a long time pet (even if it isn't 100% yours) hurts a lot. Each day the pain will get a little bit better.

Thank you athena and rainbowsockmonkey. It’s very sad but I’m comforted by the fact that she is no longer in pain. I’m so grateful to my parents for being so good to her. She had a pretty fantastic earthly life.

mrscheese I am so sorry. No matter who a pet lives with I feel like they can still “belong” to others because you love them. That doesn’t change love or pain. Thinking of you all.

scotty I would be jealous too. My parents are going to Orlando at the end of the week. I was not supposed to go, but I bet I’ll get lots of “wish you were here” fun pictures too. Sorry about your plan changes. But yay on the upcoming closing!

I’ve always worn the llbean super warm slip on winter boots My kamiks are quite warm. Mostly I was just super excited to find boots that fit - my feet are super wide - but I've been very impressed at how warm they are. I got them at Reny's which is a Maine discount department store chain but maybe REI or a smaller/independent shoe store would have them?

Otherwise the Graco TriRide or Extend2Fit should work. The E2F is the most compact followed by the TriRide.
