Neither of my kids have seen any of the Star Wars movies yet. Dd is 9, obvs, (M'14); ds will be 5 at the end of the summer and just finished preK. I haven't seen most of the newer Star Wars, - maybe just the first one that came put, the one with Jar Jar Binks that got pretty widely panned if i remember right?) so I'm wondering - what's the best order to have/let the kids watch them. I finally caved and got Disney plus, so they're available to us now (right); I'd like the kids to be culturally literate and kinda like them, but not be superfanatics (I don't like buying liscenced stuff), but if course that's likely beyond my control... plus I kinda want to catch up and see the ones I haven't seen yet .Anyway- start with what turned out to be episode 1? Or the oldest original star wars? Or one of the others? Or wait because ds still isn't old enough? What do you suggest?

Dh started watching the movies with the girls when Dd2 was your DS' age. They love them. no advice on which movie to start with though. Dd1 loves return of the Jedi, because of the Ewoks.
You could also start with some of the lego Star Wars shows.

We started our kids on Star Wars at 2...
As to which to start with. Depends on your personal feelings. We tend to start with Episode 1 and watch in chronological order. But that's partially so that we get the bad ones out of the way first.
We do skip Rogue One with the girls though, as it has a lot more death in it than some of the other ones.

We pretend the 1st 3 don't exist so don't watch those. DS's favorite so far is Return of the Jedi.
