I finally got around to washing the outfits MIL gave the girls for Christmas. I already wasn't a fan of them because of the ruffles and lace and now I see they're handwash only. Ain't nobody got time for that. I threw them in the washer and whatever happens, happens.

Ain't nobody got time for that. I threw them in the washer and whatever happens, happens. I have totally done this before. Usually everything turns out fine. The fancy dress my mom got DD1 is handwash only, and I'm debating whether to put it in the washer on delicate or do it by hand. I also got a sweater that is hand wash, but I asked for it, so that's my own fault.

First day back at school wet well. Instead of painting my sewing room closet while Dd2 was at school, I took a nap. That 6:30am alarm came WAY too early after 2 weeks off. I did end up painting this afternoon, and got the 1st coat done, and I got the 2nd coat started before I ran out of paint. I'll pick up more tomorrow and finish after Dd1s appointment.

DD2 is just a terror. I don't know what to do! Apparently she had a meltdown at school and cried for me. She needs to nap and refuses to stay in her room. She says she feels fine and hasn't got a fever. And H is gone for the next couple of days for his grandmother's funeral.

We had Dd1s check up today. Of course this morning Dd2 said both of her ears hurt, s we had him look at those. Both kids have clear grey ears. I talked to their Dr about Dd1s puking. He did a full exam and is stumped. I talk about the abdominal migraine theory, and thinks it could be a possibility, but also wanted to rule other things out. He ordered blood work which all came back normal. He wants me to track and write down when she pukes, and everything that happens when she's doing it. I did talk to my mom this morning and asked her if I puked with my migraines as a kid (30+ years ago). She doesn't always remember things from my childhood, but VERY clearly remembers that yes, I would puke when I had mine as a kid.
Dd2 has her ENT appointment tomorrow afternoon, and their Dr put in for an ENT appointment for Dd1 as well. They couldn't fit her in tomorrow with Dd2's appointment (bummer), but we have a consult 2 weeks from tomorrow at 7:45am (I'm going to regret that time in 2 weeks when Dh is working and I have to get both kids up and ready earlier than normal).

Today was a tough drop off too. It was better! And they had either a dentist or a librarian come today- we’re not clear. He has a new toothbrush but he says it was a librarian 🤷🏼♀️

luvboston, we had some issue with that and determined it was because water was getting out of the tub onto the floor because our shwer curtain was too far out. But if you're not getting water on the floor like that, it means that sometihng isn't sealed correctly or there is a crack in the shower/bath that the water is leaking through.

It’s not cheap to determine or to fix.

It’s not cheap to determine or to fix. Call the plummah. This was happening in our basement from the first floor shower drain. It was a fairly easy fix. We have water damage from the upstairs tub too, most likely from years and years of water splashing out of the tub - the subfloor has been spongy since before we bought the house. We haven’t addressed it specifically yet because the whole bathroom needs to be gutted, but we’re starting to see a bit of mold on the ceiling. Don’t be us.

We have a combo enclosed shower bath. Do you have access to the plumbing from the backside? Sometimes builders leave a removable piece, especially if it is in a closet or something. I feel like your supply or drain is probably leaking and getting a look at the plumbing will tell you. You might have to cut a hole in the wall behind the shower (near the floor to about 12 inches high). 😬 Definitely call a plumber if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. I would be worried about water damage and mold, especially under a heavy tub, so the sooner you can fix it, the better.

6 months ago they ripped out the tile floor and found that the dumb plumber left a hole in the shower floor. This bathroom is 2 yrs old. They redid the floor and the leaks stopped. Now it’s leaking from the middle of my kitchen ceiling which leads me to believe it’s the tub seal now? I contacted the contractor waiting to hear back. The ceiling in the kitchen is still open so hopefully we can see with the camera where it’s coming from.

We’re skipping nap today because ds is very energetic today. Toooo energetic and constant noise. My head is exploding. Also entering 3 nights of solo parenting. This is just my life now, but it doesn’t suck any less each time.

Cot is home from school again today. Her nose is too runny to go back. The teacher made us keep her home after Monday’s snot fest. Oops.
J is all better for the most part but re entry to school has been really rough. Dang, he’s salty!
Now I have plugged ears and a sore throat. I know what I’m in for and.... ugh. Dammit.

luvboston is it definitely after both baths and showers? Or maybe only after showers? I've had a leak in the pipe from faucet up to the shower. There's some cartridge thingy in the pipe that can go bad. But then the water runs down along other pipes because of surface tension so may appear to be coming from the drain when it isn't really. Anyway make sure the plumber checks all the pipes while in there. I hope you have an access panel! And that it turns out to be a relatively quicker fix.

I just got a text msg from someone on the campaign of leading dem to challenge susan collins for her Senate seat, "Hi, I'm ___ from ___ campaign. Are you free the evening of Jan 24th?" Does this only seem bizarre and excessively out of the blue to me because I'm old?

I have gotten so organized since the new year with new daily routines, more home cooked meals, sticking to a budget, and cleaning schedule. I'm proud of myself, but also very annoyed with DH. I've realize how messy and disorganized he is and how much I have to do to make up for it. He DGAF. He also can't get M to clean up, go to bed, or go to the potty, so I spend my day doing all of the 3yo negotiating myself.
The answer is just to go back to normal and stop trying to better myself, right? 😜

Text banking is quite popular these days, but usually they contact you about the candidate and your interest in them before inviting you to a meeting. So the wording is a little strange. But not the delivery.

When do you all typically get your mail delivered at home? Yesterday we got it at 5:45 and it was not snowing or anything to delay it for that reason. We normally got it by the time I got home at lunch by 12:30.
