I just dropped DD2 down a couple of stairs and she hit her head. I stepped on a toy and fell myself as well. She's fine. I had my dad (paramedic) come check her out. Total mom fail today though Don’t feel bad I fell down twelve steps with Ds1 when he was a baby and his leg got caught under me

All Univ of Washington classes will be online only starting Monday. Crazy pants. That is crazy. I wonder how it's affecting the staff. MH works for the UofI here and if it got closed down, I'm assuming he'd have to still work. I have several friends that work there and they have been told to work from home if they’re position allows. We got notice today that if our position is not able to work remotely we will still get paid. I think that’s really nice to say up front because it’s scary thinking of not having sick time or a paycheck. My sister is not allowed to work right now but her industry doesn’t have much for sick time and they don’t get any vacation hours. She only gets paid if she works. It’s going to be hard for her.

DH says his office told everyone to work from home one day next week. He gets to choose which day he wants. I don’t get it. People are still going to be in the office but all on different days, sounds pointless and very inefficient!

Hi I'm alive. Thanks for thinking of me and checking in. I'm just a little down right now so I'm having a hard time being social here and in IRl. Hope you all are okay.

The weather here sucks right now. I was so hopeful for spring but got my hopes up too soon. Today I was sitting in my car waiting for DS to come out of Karate. My car sat nav went into night mode as it was so dark out!! It was 1130am 😳 It stayed dark all day long, we’ve been stuck indoors and right now it’s so stormy out. I hate it.

spins coronavirus in Wellesley and Newton North we are so screwed Damn rich kids on school trips to Italy 😂. I’m not too worried about the virus itself, it will be like a bad cold, but I really don’t want to be quarantined! My friend was talking to MGH’s head of infection disease at kiddush this morning and his opinion is that it’s going to get a lot worse and schools will definitely be closed 😱

My school has a half day for students on Thursday and we were supposed to have workshops in the afternoon but now those are canceled so we can prepare 2 weeks of plans for if we need to close school and have students do work at home. 😳

Here, if there is anyone in the school that contracts the virus or comes into contact with someone who has the virus, they close the school. That’s been the trend but the rate of testing is so low that I think we’re just seeing the beginning of closures. Even at the nursing home here where all the people have died, they haven’t tested everyone yet. That’s crazy to me.
My office will officially move to 100% remote work on Thursday. We have a big meeting scheduled for Wednesday and I’m shocked they haven’t cancelled it. Most of the people coming are older and it just seems like an unnecessary risk.

The parameters for who can get tested are way too strict right now. Basically, if you haven't travelled to one of the infected countries and/or need hospitilization for your symptoms, they aren't testing you. And there's still a logjam on getting tests processed as they move away from having the CDC do all of the testing. It's a mess, and we definitely don't have the best administration to handle this pandemic.

Ate they doing it as a trial run to prepare for (or to consider) having people fully work from home?

Our neighbor across the street is a doctor at the Brigham she told me we should keep the kids home from school Bc things are about to get bad. Opinions? Bad how? More spreading? More intense? It still sounds like for the majority of people it’s cold & flulike. If that’s all, I’m not too concerned about me or the kids getting it. The main concern would be avoiding spreading it to older or more susceptible family and friends. How long would you keep them out? I just read an article about a study done on the first 500ish cases in Wuhan. There were 0 reported cases of children under 15, suggesting children are either immune or the effects are so minimal they aren’t being reported.

More spreading is what she meant For us, my parents are my childcare and they both fall into the higher risk category. Both of my backups are also higher risk. I’m leaving it up to my parents what they are comfortable with. They are so far fine with the kids being around them but could very well change their mind as the virus continues to spread. It is basically everywhere here now so we will see what happens outside of nursing home environments. I hope my parents aren’t being too brazen.

Popping in for some advice. I'm taking J out of school this Friday for a Great Wolf Lodge trip. She has only missed one day the entire year so I don't think it's a big deal. But what should I tell her teacher?

Our sump pumps are already working to get all the water from melting snow away from the house. Its a good thing, but one of them is located right under where our bed is, and comea out of the house just outside where my head is when im in bed. It runs about every 40min all night long.

Hi Ladies! I’m catching up as I can. My conference where I was presenting was canceled on Friday (conference was scheduled for this week). I am bummed but also relieved. I was really excited to present, but I’ve also never left ds3 and he is still nursing, and I’m worried about the virus like everyone else. It’s all around now. I know there are patients with it at many local hospitals. I’m more worried about protecting my parents. We are going home to get ds2 and ds3 baptized Friday-Monday. I’m looking forward to the trip. We are driving so I’m not so worried (I’d be more worried going through the airport).
