It's July. Every month in 2020 feels like 10 years.
We're going to the zoo this Friday. We have to wear masks and all the indoor things are closed as are concessions, carousel, and the train. But by golly we get to go do something. The kids are ecstatic.

It's a small local zoo so it shouldn't be too long of a day. We had to book our time to go. We will definitely be bringing water though. H s planning on filling pretty much all of the water bottles we have

scotty I picked up some chicken today to have for dinner tonight. Dh and i are both excited for it. The road construction on our street is somewhat starting winding down. The forls love standing at the end of the driveway and getting the truck drivers to honk at them and going to be sad when that stops.

DH took the rest of the week off. We left the kids with Grandpa and went to get take out for lunch, at a new-ish restaurant we hadn’t gotten a chance to try yet and it was delicious, then we drove 30min to the farm that has the best strawberries, just because. It was nice to spend time together. When we got home I made him clean out his mom’s closet, it’s been 3years since she passed. Feels good to be able to see the walls in there. at least until FIL fills it with his stuff; DH drove round trip to Indiana last weekend to pick him up. He’ll be staying with us until the girls go back to school.

njgirl84 if you still want to celebrate your anniversary Maine's gov just announced today that NJ, NY, and CT residents are now allowed to come here (Maine) without having to get tested just before coming or quarantine 14 days here - (as NH and VT residents already have been.) I'm mostly joking - I doubt you actually want to take a trip now especially a long drive that requires rest area stops! - but ... Just in case ... I've heard Bar Harbor is really empty. MA residents still not allowed unless tested or quarantine.

And I got another letter today from work. The exposure dates at the center was last Monday and Tuesday after I had already been taken off of the schedule. No need for me to get tested unless I start to show symptoms.

Maybe next year! One of my college roommates lives in Gray so it would be nice to get back up there.

MA residents still not allowed unless tested or quarantine. Rude we have less cases here😒 They cited the positivity rate as the reason. Which seems weird to me to use as a primary measure since there isn't a coherent, consistent testing program that's similar across states. And the positivity rate has a lot to do with how many people are getting tested just in case even though they have no symptoms or even likely exposure. Bit then again it does kinda make sense because if not enough people are getting tested then there's probably more infected but asymptomatic people not being detected. I dunno. In all the states (including maine) the infection rate is really different in different parts of the state and that isn't being taken into account. Or it's just the lingering anti-MA sentiment here. 🤷 but RI is also still excluded. And it's all kinda silly because it's nearly impossible (major detour) to drive here from CT, NJ, and most of NY without driving through and stopping at rest areas in MA.

We are waiting to rip up the rest of the flooring till next week. I ordered a floor scraper from Amazon to help us get the carpet and the glue off. I bought the new sticky vinyl tiles back in February that we are putting down there instead. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200702/3db3f6c3293fa02b33d64b6353f9a742.jpg)

Got shelves on the other wall of my sewing room closet. I'll need to buy a could more shelves and brackets, but it's a start. And i only need to patch 2 holes from missing studs. The smaller wall where I pit some of these up I had to patch 7 holes. ![](https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200702/9098b6709b247be642c8f11e963b9fbd.jpg)

Last night I told DH not to make breakfast for the girls because I was making bread pudding with the leftover burger buns and left it in the fridge overnight to soak. I was planning on baking it when I woke up.. He got up with the girls and served them the raw bread pudding 🤢

Zoo was good. Girls wore their masks the whole time without complaint. Other patrons were not as diligent about it. Regardless, it was nice to be out for a bit.

luvboston you asked somewhere (in june thread?) if people had been ordering activity kits to keep the kids busy. Dd is partway through he 3rd kiwi crate (and my dad extended subscription) thanks to comicsans saying they were good. (Thats a legit thanks not sarcastic!) I agree that they're good but if you're looking for a fully independent activity - it's not. But it doesn't take a lot of help (for my dd, so far ...) and someone else thought of the idea and gathered all the materials so that is a huge help for me. Some of the other ones I keep getting ads for are tempting. Others, no way. I just signed dd up for a couple drawing classes on outschool. A one-time one Sunday and a different series of 5 for next week. Fingers crossed! Have any of you done any outschool or varsity tutors or other online classes or virtual camps yet?

I am about to be facing moving expenses and the first thing I want to buy is a big, beautiful Balsam Hill Christmas tree to replace the tall, skinny tree we have that was the only thing that fit in our current house. Priorities.

My mother put several pieces of bread in my guest bath toilet. It’s been plugged for 2 days and when I was gone today she put baking soda in it. Now it’s leaking from the bottom. I have to call a plumber right?
I want to kill her. The reason she did it was Bc their were ants crawling on it.
