lulu I'm glad your parents got there but my goodness that sounds like a mess, and scary that your dad had withdrawal bad enough to be sick! I hope they are staying a while before they have to travel back (especially as there's a storm coming in - at least I think it'll affect CT too?). But even more importantly I hope your brother can hold onto his sobriety! That's a hard situation. Do your parents know he quit drinking?

My middle is bragging he can count to a million, so I told him to do it. This is hilarious. I ran out to close the garage door and came back in. He told me he had finished (it took me 30 seconds). He started again and is on 630 (counting by 10’s). Also they are doing a 24 hour challenge (something on Ryan’s world) where you cant leave the kitchen for 24 hours. They brought in nuggets (cushions) and boxes with food in them. They have failed a lot already. Ha ha ha that’s cute. How long do you think they will last in the kitchen? Do they plan to sleep there? They planned to sleep there. They lasted 30 minutes. They left the room so I cleaned it up. I googled how long does it take to count to a million…lol. So he changed his mind to count to 1,000.

But even more importantly I hope your brother can hold onto his sobriety! That's a hard situation. Do your parents know he quit drinking? Thank you for thinking of them. My parents know he quit drinking but think of it as a big joke - they don’t believe he had issues with alcohol (they don’t acknowledge that any of their kids have problems of any kind and actually are a perfect example of the British stiff upper lip). When I was in therapy for my ptsd and ocd my mum never once asked me what happened to cause this or ever ask how I was. She just ignored the fact I went - apart from once when she referred to it as “the dafties club” 😫. So they won’t be one bit respectful of my brother or the massive support my SIL has in place for him. The saving grace is that my SIL is terrifying and she will stand up to them if my brother is starting to struggle - she told me she would kick them out 😂

lulu, I'm glad your brother has SIL in his corner. She sounds awesome. She’s amazing!! She said to me last week I’m the sister she never had. I feel that way too. We are lucky to have her that’s for sure.

Kids enjoyed the snow today…except Ds3. He doesn’t have snow gloves so he went through 5 pairs or non snow gloves and a few pairs of socks in 10 seconds. He refuses to wear boots and at one point had one shoe off and the other foot was in snow (and he was screaming loudly). During one of these times when I was changing/attending to Ds3, I wasn’t watching the big boys. I found them filling up a little plastic swimming pool from outside with water. So yeah, I’m done with snow please.

Has anyone been to Disney Columbus weekend/week? Was it very crowded?

Has anyone been to Disney Columbus weekend/week? Was it very crowded? We went the week before and it was crowded. Some states have a fall break around then.

scotty how are you guys doing? We are good, thanks for asking. It took almost 2 weeks for whatever we had to work it's way through all of us but today we are finally all symptom free.

Ds had 2 covid exposures in his class last week. We just got notified of the 2nd one today, but the exposure was from 1/11-1/13. So really if he had it he would already probably be through the contagious phase by now. This is a losing battle. I hate that is my mind set now. I really hate it for any of the immunocompromised classmates. Ds3 is of course unvaccinated, but it’s gone through daycare so I bet all of the kids have had it. I wish I had a vaccine for him. Will this be their whole childhood? Will they never see faces? Will a mask be just another part of clothing like a shirt - shirts keep you warm, masks keep you healthyish. (Even though masks aren’t required at our Petri dish as of Friday)

My mom is positive and my grandpa is sick. Since my mom helps care for my grandpa, I think we're going to have to assume he has it too. I'm worried for them.

I hope the symptoms are mild. It really seems like I now know more people who have had covid than have not had it.

I may have missed some posts. Tests are hard to get here. We got a rapid test but they had a limit 1 per family. E was the sickest so we tested him and it was negative. We decided not to test anyone else because we would just stay home as a family anyways.

I’ll be praying for them (and you!). Thank you! How's your sister doing? She’s good. A little lingering fatigue and headache. She’s going back to work tomorrow. I’m so thankful for the prayers and thoughts you all sent her way. It could have been so much worse and I have no doubt that all that energy helped get her through. ❤️

FIl and MIL have covid. FIL tested positive on Friday and got the antibody treatment on Saturday, and MIL tested postitive on Sunday. They are both fully vexed and wear masks, but go out quite a bit. DH says they are doing fine.

DH says they are doing fine. We all had it a couple weeks ago. Everyone was fine but once we were all out of quarantine and got the kids back in school, I think I had 3 days to work without kids here and then they shut the babies daycare room down because of Covid. So she’s back home for 10 days. Idk how much longer I can persevere.
