I cried at mass today š³.
Because for the first time since the very first lockdown we were allowed to sing the Gloria.
How ridiculous is that š. But it seemed finally that things were back to normal after two years of either no mass at all or a scaled back version . So I felt quite overwhelmed.
Also, our new priest started (remember ours died suddenly the night before a mass and we all found at during the service). I was quite apprehensive because new priests always bring a lot of change. Anyway - heās lovely, young and it felt really nice today.

I havenāt had a ānormalā week all year. I know the year has just begun but between storms and illnesses, one or both kids have been home 1 or 2 days each week. There was one week when they were fine but I was sick and convinced it was covid so I had to keep them home for a day until I knew it wasnāt.
This week they have Wednesday off for a professional dev day. We actually have a birthday party to go to, which I think is a fantastic use of a random day off.
Then Iām flying to OH for a whirlwind weekend road trip with my mom. A week after my aunt passed, my mom had emergency abdominal surgery. Consequently my auntās memorial service got pushed to next weekend. My brother canāt go because of work, so I get to fly in fri, drive my mom 3.5 hours down the length of Ohio on Sat, and either drive back that night or early the next morning to catch my flight home. Iāll be glad to be with my cousins, but ugh on so many levels.
Iām really praying the last 2 weeks in Feb are exceedingly boring and lonesome.

comicsans, I feel you. We've had 1 full week of school. But are always on the cusp of going remote due to covid. FX you get your boring weeks. I'm not sure we will, since a judge just axed our school mask mandate.

rainbowsockmonkey I have the Britax Frontier Clicktight for DD1ā¦.should she already be using it as a booster with the regular seatbelt? She keeps bugging me because āall her friends use booster seatsā but I canāt find the manual and the info on the side is hard to see unless I take the whole thing out of the car.

Iām basically the biggest idiot when it comes to car seats for some reason and the directions turn to gibberish before my eyes. I need to figure out how the 5 point harness straps get put away so she can use the regular seatbelt. Lol this shouldnāt be this hard š©š

Stroller help: My friend is having twins I was going to give her my baby jogger city select when she delivers Bc all my kids except dd2 would be too big for the seats. Ds1 has a stroller wheelchair but itās huge and takes my entire trunk so we donāt use it unless we are going somewhere with a lot of walking or for long periods where he would get too tired in the reg stroller. He is 46 pounds. Dd2 is 25 pounds at 18 mos.
I want to get a stroller that goes to 75 pounds so that they both can use it. The only ones I have found are the 1. Baby Jogger Summit 2. Bob revolution 3. Joovy 360
Also if everything goes well we will go to Disney next year so Ds1, ds2, dd will all need a stroller.
Does anyone have any knowledge of these? Any other suggestions?

Ds1 canāt sit in a wagon it doesnāt have enough support but good ideA I need 1 seat that goes to 75. I have a city double that goes to 100 total and I hate it and has no storage for Disney, we had a problem with the basket dragging on the ground last time.

I think you probably found the best 3 options, unless you go for something more medical or adaptive, not sure if Iām using the right words there. Do they make a stroller type something for bigger kids with a seat for smaller kids attached? I googled and only found a few things from UK but maybe Iām searching for the wrong words.

I know you said no to the stroller wagon, but I also wanted to mention the Disney doesnt allow them. There is a FB group called "Strollerqueen Stroller Swap". They talk more abiut higher end stroller brand like BOB, baby jogger, thule, etc but they may be able to help you with some ideas for strollers that would work. From what i know the BOBs have an easy push because of the bigger wheels. I'm not sure abiut the itgers you mentioned.

We are at Disney, and my sleep schedule is totally out of wack. I wemt to bed at 11pm on Sunday night, and woke up at 5am for our flight. Got a migraine on the plane, and because of that and all of us being tired we went to bed at 7:30pm local time. I woke up at 11 and took an imitrex. I was hoping to sleep all night, but i have a link in one of my shoulders that isnt letting me get comfy, so here it is 4am, and im wide awake.
The kids woke up an hour ago fighting about who had the most space on the bed, and thats what woke me up.

I signed the kids up for too much stuff (soccer, baseball, basketball- only 3 more weeks, speech), work is ramping up āpostā pandemic finally which means I start to have to drive a lot to teach starting next month, and with the possible future move - I feel so overwhelmed. I tried to talk to my mom about it and she offended me, so I snapped at her. H doesnāt seem to notice the weight that I feel. I still feel sad about my cousin and cry sporadically. H, Ds and Ds2 go out of town in 2 weeks, so that should be a bit of a break. It all feels like so much to balance.

I think itās a very common feeling amongst mums with restrictions easing. One thing I really enjoyed about lockdown was not having the pressure to be a million and one places. Iām definitely feeling that pressure come creeping back over recent weeks (our restrictions are possibly ending completely next month - no masks, no isolating if you are positive, no stay home from work). I vowed after some restrictions were lifted to not take the kids back to a lot of their pre pandemic clubs and it has made a difference. They donāt miss any (well theyāve never said) and they only do swimming lessons and horse riding because both are on the weekend when I have more time. Clubs that are after school are just a logistical nightmare and I actually really enjoy just relaxing with the kids after school/work. They are tired too so I think they feel the benefit.

Thank you <3 I also try really hard to not feel guilty about doing far less with the kids out and about than I used to. Even during lockdown I would always try to take them for a hike, or to the skate park or through the woods. Now, we barely do anything except hang out at home. But I think thatās because life has crept back in gradually and we are all tired and happy to relax and watch a movie. We put ourselves under so much pressure to be everything to our kids and do everything full pelt. But Iām trying to be kinder to myself about things like this - life is hard, we need to give ourselves a break sometimes.
