I am finally getting a moment to get on here before I leave for work in 10 minutes.
I finally had my huge Christmas market that I have been preparing for so long this past weekend. I am utterly exhausted as I have been working 7 days a week for months with 4-5 hours of sleep. Thursday night I was off work but had so much to try to finish so pulled an all nighter working on products and labelling and then left for the even at noon. Had to use 2 cars to fit everything in. Took an hour and a half to set up my tables and display and then the show started at 5 and went until 9 and then I had to drive the near hour home. Got up at 5 to be ready and there for Saturday at 9 and the same for Sunday and then got home late to unload everything and then had to go into work last night. So glad it is done! I did really well and had a busy booth that people kept commenting that I was so busy but they felt things could be slow.
I sold a lot, but made too much as I have a lot left. Sold about $2300 worth of product and had a lady who owns an air b & b who said she needs little small soaps for weekend guests so hopefully that can work out. My products are in 3 stores now- 2 in Markdale and 1 in Owen Sound and willl focus on more in the New Year. Work is going well and I just finished my Helper training and got my $1.50 raise so that will help.
I miss having the time to chat and seeing everyone here all the time! Sorry I am so infrequent.

footloose, that's so awesome! Sounds like a lot of work, but definitely a nice payoff for it.

Great job footloose! I can't remember, are we able order to your products? Do you have an Etsy shop or something?

DS's bff's mom, who is also our neighbor, totally ghosted me out of nowhere. We were texting about winter break and then she suddenly stopped responding. It's been over a week. I texted her yesterday again and she hasn't responded. I asked DS if they got into a fight or something and he said no. It kinda hurts... especially for DS.

Great job footloose! I can't remember, are we able order to your products? Do you have an Etsy shop or something? I am working on setting up my website. It is just so time consuming with taking professional looking pics and then getting the whole system set up to take payment etc. Right now I just do my Instagram or FB with messaging. Just Canada Post is terrible pricing since the fuel increase. I am still looking to see if there are any cheaper ways to mail, but thank you! I had finally got a real portable POS machine too. The Square would never work for me and the fees are quite high. It took a while for the bank to set up a phone appointment as they don't do it in the office anymore and then they sent a technician out to go over how to use it to my house. We actually chatted about what it is I am selling and then it was so funny that he became my first POS customer as he bought a shampoo bar from me lol.

Did you accidentally mute or block her number? I did that with my mom last year, and it took a week for me to figure out what everyone else in out family group chat was talking about because I couldn't see her messages.

No school today. We started out as a 2 hours delay, and while I was out clearing the plow mound from the ned of the driveway we got canceled. I still had to clear the snow so that I could take Dd2 in to the Drs. When I woke up for my alarm this morning I heard her coughing the same bark cough that she had last month. Took her in a got her tested for covid, flu and RSV. She came back as positive for covid and RSV. She is now home at least through Wednesday of next week. And we have also canceled going home weekend for christmas with our families, and will plan another time to do that at some point during break.
I also JUST scheduled their booster shots for December 27th, so this is of course perfect timing.
In the last 13 months she has a staph infection in her ear, covid, flu A, mysterious 3 week cough (possibly croup), and now covid (again) and RSV.

My 4 year old niece has the flu and so does her mom. Her birthday was Wednesday and her party is supposed to be Sunday. They've been sick since Sunday so we're crossing fingers that everyone will be healthy then. I know they are on the up swing at least.

We still mask everywhere, and the girls mask in school. Atlas today was a no school day because of the weather. And it also got me out of having to go the sing a long concert tonight because that was moved to next Friday evening.

It is nasty with sicknesses. DS1 had a disgusting cough right before thanksgiving so we spent it home. Negative for Covid, and we never took him to the doctor, suspect it may have been RSV. DS2 almost wound up in the ER Sunday night with a croup cough, thankfully we were finally able to get it under control. Took him in the next day and he also had an ear infection that he hadn’t complained about. He was negative for Covid and they did not test him for anything else.
Apparently there are tons of kids out with the flu and the mystery cough. We had parent teacher conferences this week and DS1’s teacher said it has been a chorus of coughing all day. She was on week 5 of still coughing a bit from the mystery cough.

Yuck, sorry rainbowsockmonkey. DS is pretty much over the flu but then DH got it. Luckily it was pretty mild. none of the stores have children's Tylenol or advil here. I got one of the last bottles last week.

M spiked a fever this morning. Not sure what it is yet, but our school nurse did send out a notice that over 10% of the school was out sick on Tuesday. Hopefully S doesn't get sick. She is still so tiny. 12 weeks and just hit 10 lbs today!

And dd2 is having an allergic reaction to migraine meds.

My sick house is still going strong. The kids were “well” (meaning no runny nose but still the phlegmy cough)for a week and in that week dh was sick. Now the kids are both sick again. Their last day of school is the 16th so I’m hoping we can get everyone well by Christmas.

Has your ds said anything to his friend? Not to put kids in the middle, but if the kid isn't acting weird towards him, he might be able to ask if the other kids mom is ok - that your a little worried since haven't heard from her in a while? Or is there a school or community event coming up that would provide an excuse for your ds to ask his friend to ask his mom to send you a message about something. Maybe?

I hope all the sick kids are doing better, and that maybe siblings and you moms are dodging the ick! Especially your baby, scotty! luvboston does your dd2 already get migraines?!? That's awful! (And so is having allergiccreaction to meds). Is your ds2 any better yet? My coworker brought her school-aged child in for the flu like symptoms last week and they didn't test her for rsv- (earlier in the fall the 3 in 1 flu/covid/rsv tests have been pretty standardly used) they said there's so many cases now they're saving rsv tests for babies; school aged kids who are breathing ok they just test for flu and covid (and strep if there's signs suggesting) and if it's not those then just figure it's likely rsv. It makes sense since there's no treatment anyway so not actually helpful to get a confirmed diagnosis, but alarming that the reasoning it they feel there's a shortage of tests and they need to conserve. Especially because we (Maine) are always late in the waves of illness, so it's likely to still keep getting worse here even after it peaks other places, and it's quite bad enough already. Ugh.

rainbowsockmonkey I forget, how long had it been since the last time your dd2 had covid? (Guessing it was just a few months ago because you had set booster appts for end of the month) anyway, stinks she got it again; I hope the rest of you don't!

Ds2 is a little better still not back to normal and extremely tired all the time and cranky. Dd2 has been getting migraines for a year now, this is when ds1 started but we thought it was from brain surgery. Dd is still sick her throats killing her no strep culture is back yet.

(Guessing it was just a few months ago because you had set booster appts for end of the month) anyway, stinks she got it again; I hope the rest of you don't! Dd2 and I both had it at the end of Jan/ beginning of Feb this year. Dd1 had it last October. Both girls had a booster shot on Jan 1st, and are now scheduled to get the new booster shot in a couple of weeks. Dd2 was miserable today. She spiked a temp of 104.3 both this morning and at dinner when the Motrin had worn off. She just laid around all day watching shows on her tablet or on the tv in the basement, and said that she fell asleep watching the Magic School Bus. She desperately wanted to play outside in the snow, and I felt horrible telling her no. She was just so run down that I knew she wouldn't last more than 15-20min out there. So far Dd1 and I are fine. I did test myself this morning because my temp has been hovering around 99.9, and the chocolate milk I made this morning tasted off. I actually ended up pouring half of it down the sink it tasted that weird. My test was negative, and aside from the slightly elevated temp I feel fine. We have more bad weather coming this Tuesday and then more snow on Thursday and Friday, and I predict another snow day because they are saying wind and freezing rain in the morning. Tomorrow I have to go and renew my drivers license since it expires on Tuesday, and I didn't get to do it on Friday like I had planned. Dh is also going to go and get his flu shot and some groceries to tide us over for the week.

Dd went back to school today, fully masked. Dd1 stayed home because she had a slight temp last night and didn't look good this morning. She's been coughing all day and had a temp of 101 this afternoon, so she's out tomorrow as well. I covid tested her at lunch, and she's negative, so it's probable RSV.
