DD1 has a stomach bug and has been vomiting all day. Tis the season, I suppose. I hope your girl gets better soon! Hope everyone gets better fast! Thank you! She's completely better today. She's home from school because her last puke was at around 7 pm last night, but is perky and bouncing around.

Bah humbug!
I have an upper respiratory virus something or other that is killing me. It’s not Covid. My asthma is so bad, inhalers are helping but I get winded from walking upstairs and the wheezing. Ugh. Ugh. My anxiety is not great and I honestly think there’s a bit of seasonal depression in there, too. My appt to talk about a new med got cancelled 45 mins before it was to start. I cried, I got angry and then rescheduled. The soonest they can see me is mid January. 😑
My kids have been sick since late September on. It’s never ending. I have bought enough Kleenex and Motrin for the entire city it feels like.
Their last day of school is today and I don’t know what to do with them until January 3rd! It seems like such a long break.
Thank you for reading my rants. I’m sorry about all the sickness and crud you’re all dealing with.

That all sounds miserable, mrscheese!! I'm sorry you're so sick, and that kids keep catching stiff. That really seems to be the story of this fall all around - one illness after another! Ugh. And yes, that is a long break! We still have school most of next week, which also feels daunting but in a different way! Last minute canceled appointment us so frustrating, especially for something where help/change asap is important! Ugh. Hugs to you. Have you ever tried the special lights for SAD? Sorry to not have anything to offer except sympathy.

Sorry for all of the sickness! DS now has strep... mrscheese that's really frustrating about the canceled appointment. My doctor suggested the light springbeduk mentioned. I haven't tried it yet though.

I haven't tried it yet though. I have had the “happy lamp” for many years. It helps, I think, but is not enough on its own for me. Seattle is gray and dark basically from November to April. Soul sucking weather! Cc:springbeduk

M has been out of school since last Thursday with fevers, cough, and vomiting. Fever for 8 days but he tests negative for everything. H has missed the last 2 days with high fever and cough. Dh is sick too. I'm dreading winter break because I haven't had any time to prepare for Christmas while having all these kids home.
On the bright side, everything with our home buying is going well. Our current house appraised better than we thought. FX the market stays this way or better this spring so we can make a nice profit.

mrscheese, I hope you feel better soon. Ask for a breathing treatment if you have to call again. My mom got almost pneumonia in 2019 at this time and they really helped. They're a steroid like your inhaler, but it's a more extended dosage that will help ease inflammation.

We finally got snow! Just a few inches and very wet; we are almost on the rain/snow line. But it was good for a snowman and for dd to start on the grand snow fort she has been plotting, which is nice because last year we barely got any sticky snow.
Christmas is looming way too soon, and at the same time as it would make me nuts if we were hone all next week, I kinda wish there wasn't school next week. The kids are about as non-sick as they're likely to be this season (knock on wood) - dd just has the edge of / is fighting a cold but really not bad compared to most of what's going around. I'm afraid they'll catch something at school next week and then either my dad and stepmother would have to cancel their visit, or would get sick (if they're already here before symptoms start). But ... I have school M-W and the kids have school M-Th. 🤞🤞🤞

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon!
We are also out of school already and don't go back until the 4th.
I am annoyed with MIL. She has decided to do 12 days of Christmas gifts for each of the girls. It's way too much stuff and she has a tendency to give ridiculous gifts. So far the gifts have included nesting dolls, a Barbie from 2002, and adult lipstick 😒

My mom got my 4 year old niece some cheap lipstick, but that's because my SIL told her it was ok, and they were getting her some stuff to play with. Hope the items improve

Sorry for all the sicknesses. It sounds like a majority of kiddos on the board have something.
Luckily no sicknesses here as of this second. But instead ds3 is in surgery right now for a broken arm. (Running in the front yard and slipped). We spent the night at the hospital last night. Should be discharged today.

I hope he recovers quickly and fully, and isn't too bothered by the cast in the meantime! And I hope you can maybe sneak in a nap once you all get home!

We're at my Grandma's doing Christmas and she got all the kids cupcake decorating kits. The icing has meringue powder.
DD2 has a severe egg allergy. So.

The girls seem to be on the mend, and as long as they dont have a fever in the morning, I'm sending them both to go to school tomorrow. 3 school days until winter break. I need them in school these 3 days.
I had to go over and talk with a neighbor this morning. Our back security camera caught a cat coming on our deck this morning at 5:40am and it peed on our sliding door and deck. I followed the paw prints to her house, and asked her to keep her cat over there, and explained what had happened. Its the same lady whose other cat i caught inniurbfront garden bed this spring, and she has a cat door that her cats can go in and out of whenever they choose. She said it's hard for her to keep him in the house because then he pees and destroys her house. I told her i can't have her cat coming over and peeing on my house, and potentially cause my cats to pee inside my house. We'll see if he stays over there or not.

The girls went to school, and I took advantage of them being there and ran some errands. Our highs later this week are going to hove just below zero, and the windchills are expected to be close to -40. I went to cams club and stock up on some essentials for meals during break in case the girls and I are stuck here. Thankfully we already have plenty of crafts and projects to keep them entertained in case they can't get outside.

Now DD2 is puking. Nooooooooo! I hope it doesn't spread to the rest of you! Thank you! Me too. I don't feel great, but it's CD1, so I'm playing the period or stomach flu game to figure out the cause. I feel bad for DD2 because this will be two years in a row she misses her school Christmas party. She's missing her Winter Dance program too (it's tonight). My mom took DD1. Thankfully, they give out a zoom link so we can still watch it.

Of course, both girls are fine this morning and bouncing all over the place.

Getting my Christmas cards out in little batches. They may not get to their destinations until after the holidays. Sorry for the delay. I wouldn't have gotten them out at all if it wasn't for MH. He took care of the family ones.
