It's officially summer. So new randoms?
We've been spending the last however long getting my grandparents' stuff ready for an estate sale. Which is now this weekend. We were open from 8-5 today and will be again tomorrow.
It looks like we haven't sold anything, but we made over $1500 today. They just had SO much stuff.

After an insanely busy last month of school, we leave for Disney tomorrow morning at 4:30am. I am excited but hate the stress of the travel process and making sure all of the moving parts work out. We land in Orlando at 10:50 so I’m hoping to be able to get early check in at the hotel before our late lunch reservation in Disney Springs.

I got a promotion and new position with my company. The best part is it's full time WFH. I start after I get back from vacation.
We leave for Italy in a week. I feel like we've been planning it forever but still have so much to do.

Hello ladies, we spent the weekend doing a baseball tournament for ds at the beach. We lost and ds injured his thumb and had to miss the last game. We didn’t get X-rays since the treatment for minor fracture or badly bruised is splinting (so we are splinting for now - per FIL suggestion). I felt really bad for him as he was just so sad to not be playing (and he was hurt). However a little time at the Beach made him smile. My middle turns 7 in a couple weeks. My little starts his pre-k year in the fall. I’m contemplating going back to school and have submitted 1/2 my application. It would be for a phd in what I do. My worry is if I can give it enough time. If I get in/really do it, it will not start until next year.

njgirl84 I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. Thank you. It’s been rough, he wasn’t even three yet. We had just gotten home from vacation and he was still at the pet sitter. Got a frantic call from him about it. I guess they had done training earlier in the day, he put him in the guest bedroom to rest and came back a few hours later to give him dinner and he was already gone. The vet said probably heart related since he was so young. The kids are devastated because they never got to see him when we got back. The only silver lining is that it didn’t happen at home for the kids to find him.

Dd1 had a dermatology appointment today, and it went well. We have been battling a rash on the back of her thighs since December, and I had hoped it would clear up with the weather wasn't so dry. It didn't, and at her well child a couple of weeks ago, her Dr recommended that I take her to see a dermatologist. She has been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, and we will be getting 2 prescription creams to use. One for her face, and one for her body. The dr we saw also told me that people with it are more prone to allergies, and developing asthma. Dd1 had a dairy allergy as a kid, and may have season allergies, but so far doesn't have any signs of asthma. She then let me know that there have been studies that show that most kids asthama cases show up between 7-12 yo, so it's something that we will be watching for over the next few years.
We also picked up a new lotion for her to use, and I'm going to get her a facial moisturizer as well.

Anyone shopping Prime Day this year? I just bought DD2 a new swimsuit because her old one (which still fit from last year) is starting to wear out. Thankfully she did pick one of the ones on sale, so I saved a few dollars.

Other than that, I'm not really seeing anything that is jumping out at me this year.

Though I did tell DH to look for kid's digital cameras, since there were some sales. He's been wanting to get them for our girls.

I feel like they made it super complicated to find things. I barely got what I needed.

I feel like they made it super complicated to find things. I barely got what I needed. Amazon's search algorithm is the worst. And their filters are laughable.

Does anyone have recommendations for kids' wired headphones? I feel like we are constantly buying headphones. G has her school pair that has somehow lasted since preK, but every pair we have bought since has only lasted a year or so.

DD1 has had hers since K, so 4 years at school now, and they still work well. www.amazon.com/dp/B07V1LJQLH/ref=twister_B07MBQLXR5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

We've had to replace the home ones once, but the school ones have last for 2 years now. They are normally $16.99 when we buy them. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019Q02UIY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hope your H's car is ok - that water around it is pretty deep! Also very very glad you weren't driving in that tunnel where people drowned!!

We had a very small incident yesterday after getting home. One of the burners on the cooktop got bumped on, and the girls' lunch bags and water bottles were on it. No damage done to anything other than the lunch bags and water bottles thankfully. Cooktop has been cleaned and is back to looking normal. It's not the first time a burner knob had been bumped on, and now the knows are off the cooktop and stored in a bowl in the cabinet unless we are using the cooktop. The kids were excited to get to pick new lunch bags, even tho dd1 picked the exact same pink unicorn one.

In not surprising news, my SIL sucks. H called her yesterday to try and figure out plans for meeting her and MIL at a Ren Faire in September and it turns out she'll be in town this weekend. We live in a small town of 2000 people, so it's not like we're out of the way or anything. However, she told H that she doesn't want to see him at all.
He's upset and now considering cancelling our plans with them. I don't know whether to encourage him to keep them or to cancel them.
