I probably need to go to the grocery store this week. I’m low-key terrified and also weirdly looking forward to it. What a time to be alive.

DS keeps asking when his birthday party is. It's breaking my heart. I keep telling him we have to wait and see but we'll do something special. I'm not sure it's working.

Our amazon tp order was cancelled last minute. 😠. Dh went to the little local store in our neighborhood this morning to see what he could find. I heard him come back in the door and yelled, “any luck?!” His response...
“I struck gold on a value pack of Cottonelle! 24 rolls!”
😂
What a strange time we’re living in!

DH worried that someone would steal our package from Target with TP.

My kid can’t even remember what day and month his birthday is, much less when that will be other than if it tell him that it’s x number of days away. Same with Christmas- no clue.

I’ve included toilet paper on every click list order and they’ve been out. Same with amazon. They keep cancelling my order. Target has tp but you can’t order it online, you have to go in and get it. We get and get out as quick as we can. Wipe down car and change clothes when we get home in addition to washing our hands well. Sometimes you just have to go in.

Other than going for a walk and taking care of chickens, I haven't left the house in almost 3 weeks. I'm starting to lose it. Dh got our grocery pick up and chicken feed last week so we have no reason to leave any time soon. M's birthday is Saturday so at least I have that to look forward to and plan for. Otherwise my days all just run together.

What is click list? Is it for a certain store?
No stores around here are doing pickup. The only delivery is Instacart or Whole Foods, but there are currently no delivery times, and don’t know when there will be.

Order online and then they bring out to your car.

I probably need to go to the grocery store this week. I’m low-key terrified and also weirdly looking forward to it. What a time to be alive. I've been going to the grocery store once every 5-7 days (want to keep getting fresh fruit&veggies as long as possible! Plus am paranoid about running out if milk because ds drinks so much. So while there still aren't a lot of cases here, I'm going ) and went into target yesterday - had a pick.up.order but realized there were other things I needed and you have to go in to pick up anyway. Target was weird because so few people were there. Grocery store has been more moderate. Everyone is being good about keeping their distance though they haven't yet made aisles one way which would help (i heard someone on a radio show suggest it and its a really good idea!). I only go (so far) when kids are with their dad; I use sanitizer on tbe way in or if it's out I go wash hands (you can get out of the bathroom at all the stores I go to without touching anything with hands); sanitize cart (so far they have always had purell wipes or sanitizer spray and paper towels out), I practically hold my breath the whole time, use the self checkout and only touch screen with knuckle, and then use hand sanitizer on the way out or if it's gone after i put stuff in the trunk I go back in and wash hands again. It looks like almost everyone else there is doing similar. Then in the car I use hand sanitizer and sanitize the key abd anything else i had to touch before washing hands. Normally i am so not germophobic so this is all very weird for me!

Right now kroger is doing it free too, normally $5. I pull up, they load it in my trunk and it’s already paid for online. No tip, they’re not allowed to accept. So it’s the best.

We are going out tomorrow and are actually taking the kids with us and into a store. They need new bike helmets badly, and that isn't something that I can really buy without them. There is a local bike shop that is open and has kids sizes in stock. After that, we will run to Sams club, but I think just dh will go in there and I'll stay in the car. I really want to go in the afternoon, and then order some food from somewhere to bring home for dinner. We haven't eaten out in a couple of weeks, and Olive Garden is sounding really good right about now (and they have the buy one get one).

My kids will be so relieved Tooth fairy visited her during SIP just last week. She does important work. In other news, some guy in my town bought an Easter Bunny costume and is planning on going on daily walks and waving to kids. I don't know whether to be amused or horrified.

Some inspiration I saw:
There is a saying I live by, which is, if you are standing close to the water on the beach, you’ll be hit by a wave. You can let the wave knock you down, or you can surf it. Either way you’ll get wet. I say to you all, put on those mom jeans and let’s surf the f*** out of this wave; we’re getting wet anyway.

The kindergarten parents have reached out to do a birthday brigade. I think we are making signs and driving by the birthday kids houses at certain times to yell/sing happy birthday to the kid. I’m not sure if we will be able to do all of them, but I love the idea and am happy to join in. For my 3 year old the parents got together for a zoom dance party. It was fun. The kids loved it and the parents danced too. We were having a flossing contest. It’s just little things and they are really silly, but fun.

We are grocery shopping one day a week still. It’s either h or me. Definitely can’t run in with our scrubs on anymore. I’m not taking special precautions really other than social distancing in stores. I see people with gloves and some with masks on. I worry about the glove people. I’m afraid they think the gloves protect them, but if they touch something and then touch themselves there isn’t any protection going on.

My husband does the gloves in the store and throws them away and uses sanitizer before getting in his car. So it’s really just to basically be able to throw away hand germs rather than washing them since there’s no sink in a parking lot. He was changing clothes when he got home too. Now that there’s more cases and it’s living on surfaces so long, I don’t want either of us going into stores and bringing something home. I’m seeing info like that they will induce labor if you’re far enough along and pregnant and get it. I’m 28.5 weeks- kinda in a shit spot for another 10 weeks.

My ob said they won’t take a baby unless the mother is in cardiac distress as pregnant women can be on ventilators. Or the baby isn’t growing or doing well. Basically the safest thing to do is stay home and have others shop. And be extra careful doing everything so you don’t get hurt.

I tried a couple weeks ago, waited 12 hours, and then got an email to cancel if it wasn't covid related. I hope they were able to help you!

I just spent an hour putting in a grocery Giant Direct. The slot for pick up was April 11th. We have enough food now so I was trying to put in an order for when we would need stuff again. When I went to check out a blip lost my entire order/emptied cart😡🤬
