I'm sorry you are feeling awful. especially with antsy kids! Though of course really it's very good that your dd2 is feeling better and dd1 is ok. But puts you in the miserable position of having to mom while sick. Is your H able to take any time off? Or hopefully at least he gets this long weekend and will entertain the girls enough for you to rest? Is the weather un-hot enough they can play in the yard? If he tests positive he can take 5 days of Covid leave, but since I stay at home, he's not allowed any for the kids. He does get Monday off. We were supposed to go to a fancy hotel on Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary while my mom watched the kids. So of course, this happened now. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Oh that really stinks! I'm sorry you got it just when it messes up a rare special thing. Though you're right, it's an 'of course'. Ugh Murphys law. That's pretty skimpy covid leave for a college, too. no wonder it's spreading and spreading, if that's how a place with better benefits than many is handling it (I'm assuming that's the same policy for food service staff and others who have a lot of interaction with others, too)

We are at my in-laws. The only reason I wanted to come here was to pick peaches from this one orchard that I really like. So we get here and are ready to go pick peaches, really hyped it up to the kids and then the in-laws say…. We went picking this morning before you got here. Here, have some peaches.😑
Then they tell the kids we’re having pizza for lunch. Much excite. Until it is revealed that it’s left over Papa John’s Philly cheese steak pizza. Hork city. My kids wouldn’t eat it and I choked down one small piece because I was starving. Papa John’s is gross already. Cheese steak pizza is an abomination.
So, I’m ready to go home 😂

They made us bistek which is beef and onions and eaten with rice, and stir fried green beans with some yummy sauce (idk what if was). Plus the most amazing peaches!

We just went apple picking the apples are sparse this year not really worth it for organic. It's still early, isn't it? They're usually much better a couple weeks after labor day here. Even into early October. Did you finally get rain in MA? We did over the last couple weeks but maybe it was still too late to help the aple crop too (have heard blueberries really suffered from drought)?

Hanging in there! The older 2 kids are in school now so it's quiet around here. I've been canning and preserving what's left of the garden while I wait on baby girl to show up. Having contractions and pelvic pain but nothing consistent yet. Dh's last day of work is Sept 16th and then he gets 6 weeks off with 4 more weeks paternity to use in the next year. His first paternity leave ever. We butchered half of the turkeys this weekend. We'll finish next weekend and then the pigs go to a butcher in 30 days. It's perfect timing because once baby is here almost all the homestead tasks will be done for the year. I'm looking forward to baby snuggles and some time off.
