lrmrtn hope you are feeling better!! Just be prepared for the potential of lingering fatigue. When we had it DH was back to himself in about a week but it took me 2-3 weeks for the fatigue to go away. mrscheese I hope it stays mild for you. I agree with your asthma see if you can get paxlovid. I wasn’t able to but I have no underlying health issues. My cousin got it when she had Covid and she felt better super quick. Thanks!

Thank you njgirl84 and springbeduk. I generally do qualify as higher risk for Covid stuff because of my bmi. I guess the one time it pays to be fat 😂 I actually have a phone appt with my doctor today for allergy stuff and am going to fill her in and ask about paxlovid. I haven’t tested positive yet but I’m sure it’s coming. In the span of 2 hours last night I developed a super sore throat, congestion and coughing. 😩

My doc said she didn’t recommend paxlovid for me given my age and that my asthma is ok so far. She upped one of my inhalers, though. I feel ok, not great, but dh and Cot have been hit hard.

I hope you don’t get worse and that everyone gets better! Don’t wait to go to the hospital if your breathing is crappy!

Guess who has 2 thumbs and got a job offer. THIS BITCH!!!!!!!
The printing place I interviewed at on Tuesday just called. Its going to be part time for the first couple of weeks for training, and then when school is out, will be full time 9a-4p. I accepted on the condition that I can ensure that I can still sign the kids up for summer care. I left a message with the director, and am just waiting for a call back.

Thanks for asking! DS is pretty much back to normal. I'm better but I still feel like I have a bad head cold and have no sense of smell. DH is negative still. My dad and his wife both have COVID but at least it's pretty mild for them. Unrelated to our COVID spread, my mom had COVID a couple weeks ago and now has rebound COVID from the paxlovid.

My dad and his wife both have COVID but at least it's pretty mild for them. Unrelated to our COVID spread, my mom had COVID a couple weeks ago and now has rebound COVID from the paxlovid. That stinks your mom got rebound! I hope she feels better soon. It's may not really be from the paxlovid, though - there were some articles out in the fall/early winter that rebound is actually just as common without paxlovid, but doesn't get as much attention - or maybe isn't as noticeable because it seems more like a long drawn out case without the period of improvement in the middle that people got with paxlovid. But really it seems there's so little data being collected it's hard to know; there should be studies going on to see if a longer course than 5 days would be better especially if it's started really early, and also to figure out what's going on when there's rebound, but - at this point if there are any they're probably small and underfunded and results won't get the attention they should. Glad your ds feels better; I hope you get your sense of smell back soon!

Thank you for asking. J is pretty back to normal, just a little congestion and slight cough. Dh is better, but still has the bad cold symptoms. Body aches and chills have stopped for him. Cot tested + yesterday and she is pretty sick. Low energy, really bad sore throat and cough. She’s been napping which is very unusual. I have been hit the worst. I tested + Thursday and it’s been severe body aches, the chills have pretty much stopped. My breathing is doing well, though, which is what I was most worried about. Dh’s work is insisting he come back on Monday. I told him to maybe do a half day if he feels up to it. There is no sense in rushing it. He has sick time and should be able to use it. He feels pressure though, as he is currently in process of interviewing for a promotion.

At H's old job, he was forced to go in when he called in sick on a day he had originally tried to get off. Completely unrelated and coincidental, but they didn't believe him. Then when he threw up at work, they wondered why he'd come in.

I get it and am also ragey about it. Freaking America.

Did anyone lose their sense and taste and smell with Covid? Please tell me it didn’t take long to come back! It varies by person. There are some things that tasted off for awhile, but are fine now. And certain smells I still can't smell.

Did anyone lose their sense and taste and smell with Covid? Please tell me it didn’t take long to come back! I lost both as I was getting better weirdly enough. It was about two weeks before they came back. Every now and then I will be eating a salad and I lose my sense of taste in the middle of eating it. A friend of mine said she can't eat lettuce either. My neighbor had covid in summer 2020 and she told me a few weeks ago she still can't smell anything 😔

I can tell if something is salty, sweet or spicy but no real flavor and absolutely no smell at all. I hate it. Ugh. J thinks it’s peak humor to fart in front of me and ask if I can smell it. Kids, man. 🙄

To me, everything tasted like it had been soaked in water and then put on my plate. That's too funny, my neighbor said that's how her husband and kids test her smell too. Smh!
