My right ear feels weird. Its not that it hurts, but its also not that it doesn't hurt. Almost feels like there's water in it, and has been feeling that way for a little over a week.

Ear update. I do have little bit of water in my ear behind my eardrum, but no ear infection. I woke up this morning, and it was a little painful, so I went in to be seen. I am switching my allergy med that I've been on for the last 8ish years, and will see if that helps. The Dr I saw said she could also prescribe me some drops, but I'm going to start with this and see how it goes. Dd1 has her 9y well child in 4 weeks, and we share a Dr, so I'll have him take a look if it's not feeling better by then.

I just bought MLB Allstar game tickets! You can’t just buy a ticket to the days you want, you have to buy a whole strip. One ticket for each of the week’s events is a strip. With my season ticket membership I had the chance to buy 2. I am going to surprise J with the home run derby tickets. He will be so excited! I will likely sell the rest, though. Or maybe not because….
YOLO

I lost both as I was getting better weirdly enough. It was about two weeks before they came back. Every now and then I will be eating a salad and I lose my sense of taste in the middle of eating it. A friend of mine said she can't eat lettuce either. My neighbor had covid in summer 2020 and she told me a few weeks ago she still can't smell anything 😔 Omg. I can’t imagine not smelling ever again! How awful. I can tell if something is salty, sweet or spicy but no real flavor and absolutely no smell at all. I hate it. Ugh. J thinks it’s peak humor to fart in front of me and ask if I can smell it. Kids, man. 🙄 That’s what happened to me, I could tell something was sweet first, then it expanded to more. It took about a week for me for it to fully come back. And some things smelled weird for a bit afterwards.

Ugh I have the worst post-nasal drip. Woke up with my throat bothering me. Not like a true sore throat but could feel all the mucus. I thought it was just related to allergies but now it’s starting to hurt and I’ve had a low grade fever. I swear I cannot be getting sick. We have tickets for the Yankees game on Saturday for E’s birthday.
I need all the healthy vibes sent my way!

DH is mostly better but still really tired. DS is totally fine. The rest of my family is doing about the same. Thankfully no one got seriously ill. Thanks for asking!

H got up and got ready for work Monday morning and then 10 mins before he was to leave, his boss texted and said to stay home. It’s like some weird power trip or something. Makes me so angry. But he had Monday off and I think it was good for him. I don’t think the heat will be too bad. They’re saying about 90 degrees here which is hot for us since not many have AC. We have a heat pump and will be cool. Thank goodness. Thank you for thinking of us. It’s been a rough couple of weeks but we’re on the upswing now. I’m the last one with any symptoms (cough). Because of course I am 😂

I've been taking the new allergy meds for 3 nights now, and for the last 3 days, I have felt sooo tired and drowsy until past lunch time, and I've been taking the meds around 10pm. I've decided to switch back to my old allergy meds, and if my ear isn't better in a week or so I'll go back in for drops. I could live with the super weird and vivid dreams it was giving me, but I can't be half asleep every day.

Laryngitis really sucks! Especially, when you have 3 kids to wrangle.

Covid is just the gift that keeps on giving for me. My family has been back to 100 for a long time now and I’m still dealing with asthma issues. I had a chest X-ray yesterday to rule out pneumonia and it was clear. Thank God. I started a week of prednisone to hopefully get everything back to normal. I hate prednisone.

mrscheese (and Cot) and lrmrtn I hope the fatigue and lingering respiratory stuff improves soon! If you possibly can, maybe take a couple more days off and rest as much as you can (for mrscheese once you aren't taking care of a sick kid!). Not like that's easy to do in our world. But trying to push through could make it worse/last linger.

I got a call this morning from a job I interviewed for 5 weeks ago. It's the HR business assistant position, and they want me to come in for a 2nd interview. I politely told them that I have already accepted another job and wasn't able to.
My first thought after hanging up the phone with her was "MAN she has some balls on her!". This was a job that they were going to "call me in the next week or so to let me know if I got it".

Today is DD2's birthday. She's 7. She's also taller than DD1 was last year at 8. She'll over take her soon, I'm sure.
It's also festival season in town. We went up today to walk around and do the scavenger hunt. They were doing a cake walk, and both my kids won a free cake. So now we have TONS of sweets.

Tomorrow is the last day of school, and DD1 is going to miss it. This morning she started not feeling well while her class was outside doing a scavenger hunt. She went into the office and got a drink of water and rested for a bit before returning to class. Then 5min before the end school, she threw up. Then there up 3 more times on the way home, and when she got home. I called and got her an appointment at the same day clinic for a strep test. Her throat is bright red, and her right ear looks irritated, so the Dr prescribed amoxicillin without waiting for the strep test results. The test came back negative, bu the same thing happened with Dd2 2 weeks ago, and within 2 days of being on the meds she was way better than had been the previous 2 weeks.
DD1 is currently sleeping on the living room floor, and I'm mentally preparing myself to chaperone Dd1s 1st grade trip to the children's museum and a park tomorrow.
ETA: Dd1 also has her 9y well child visit on Wednesday. We've been battling some eczema spots on the back of her legs since December, and I'm going to ask if there is something better that we should be using than the hydrocortisone cream we've been using.

Sorry she is sick. We got Ds2’s eczema dx less than a year ago. It seems to almost never go away. You have a lot more experience with it than I do, but we just use baby dove eczema for soap and lotions. That seems to be a good fit for us, but it rarely ever is gone for long.

DH leaves for 6 days early tomorrow morning. He got a big promotion at work and now has to travel a few times a year. The kids are a mess, especially J. He is mg anxious kid and cried for a long time tonight.
It’s the last week of school, and I have a full week of working in the office. Thank the Lord for my parents help and being rock stars.
I am still struggling with my asthma after Covid. Docs have upped my meds and I’m doing better overall but have bad days here and there where it’s so out of control. It’s wait and see as to if this is the new normal or will get better. 🤞🏻 it gets much better.
