Hey all,
We've made it to another month. Sorry for the lame title, I've been battling a lot of headaches lately and am not really all that creative right now.

I’m having prolotherapy done on my fascia today. My plantar fasciitis hasn’t responded to physical therapy or anything so we’re trying this. Currently waiting for the nerve block to work. I hate needles 🤢

It’s quite sore and throbbing pain which is expected but ooof. I’m hoping to get my foot back to healthy by June for Disney!

Avian Flu are you fucking kidding me? It's in MA now? There were a couple cases (in backtyard/small farm flocks) in another county here last month, but so far haven't heard of more - knock on wood! I think the news reports said there was some in NH too. Do you have chickens?

We practice bio-security with our chickens but I am concerned about bringing in meat birds and turkeys from a hatchery even though they will be kept separate. The advice is to wear different shoes around different flocks/groups. Even different shoes for trips to the feed store.

We don’t but I only buy small farm pastured chicken and I just can’t take one more thing everything is so hard to get as it is. My friend on the cape has chickens she’s so over life now having to take more precautions with 3 young kids who help w them.

You know what sucks? Spelling tests. DD2 has been having them since she came back from winter break and she's struggling with it. We practice daily at home, and words that she knows how to spell she messes up on the test.
She's not really learning anything with this.

Are they the type of spelling test where they get a list of words they have to remember or is it a phonics based test where they have to use sounds and spelling rules to spell any word that’s given?

They get a list of words. They are mostly words that can't be determined phonically. Like listen, down, sound, measure, suit... It's definitely just memorization. She does better when she practices writing them to spelling out loud, so we've been doing that. But it's a struggle.

We started using a white board to practice. It’s like the writing gets the words to his memory. Idk but it works.

Writing things down always helped my remember them too. So many different ways people learn.

I am SO tired.
Since coming home from my brother’s house I just can’t shift the exhaustion.
I’m back to work tmrw and dreading it - I honestly don’t know how I will manage.
It’s obviously a combination of having had covid in January, then the stress of flying out last minute, and now the jet lag.
I’m so tired, I was a bit tempted to do another covid test just in case…I’m too scared 😂

lulu that sounds rough! Maybe you should test- get the group record for out times having covid! Is your H fully recovered? Did any of the kids catch it again? Was your SIL able to get childcare arranged? Or family/medical leave? Healing wishes for your brother, and for you!

Was your SIL able to get childcare arranged? Or family/medical leave? Healing wishes for your brother, and for you! I took the plunge and it’s negative thankfully. DH tested negative finally yesterday and today - his isolation ends tmrw. None of the kids were positive. The rule here is as long as kids do a negative test every day during a parents isolation they don’t have to isolate, so that was a bonus and they still went to school. My SIL was able to organise a nanny and she started the day I left. I have mixed feelings about how my trip went (will post in the private board), but at least they have some childcare in place now. Thank you for the kind thoughts.

I just made an appointment for abnormal uterine bleeding, so now I’m in a googling spiral. Is it cancer, is it early menopause, it is…. I feel like I always have my period. This current cycle is on day 10. My period hasn’t been “normal” since it returned after Ds3. But because I had kids every 2 to 2 1/2 years (and nursed them 1-2 years) there hasn’t been a normal since 2013. Fun stuff…

You’ll be in my prayers ❤️ For what it’s worth, mine was never “normal” again after Cot. There was never an explanation other than it happens.

I’m trying to ignore my anxiety about the state of the world and pandemics and just alllll of it. Sports is saving my sanity this week. We lost Russell Wilson but baseball is back! I’m so excited!
Sorry for sports talk. Dh is so sick of me. 😂
I need a hobby. What are your hobbies?

Of course, obsessing over current events is also sort of a hobby, but it's not a healthy one.

And March Madness!! Bowling, crocheting, trying to get back into working out on a regular basis, and I've started going to yoga in the last few months.

He was getting a little Hollywood 😂. I blame Ciara. But really I don’t think it’s a terrible move. He clearly wanted out. Really interested to see who ends up at QB. Quite a lot of chatter today around here about Colin Kaepernick. Really hope they don’t pursue Deshaun Watson. I guess we’ll know more about his future tomorrow. As for baseball, I’m dying to know what moves the Mariners are going to make. They have money to spend! Would love Kris Bryant in a M’s uniform! I’m so excited for baseball! Finalllllly! March madness… obligatory Go Zags!
